My Professional Story
My professional story begins with my want to make a positive impact on the future of children. I believe that it is the teachers role to not only provide an education for each child, but also provide life skills to be a proactive member in society. I want to be a teacher that develops a new generation of thinking individuals. In this day, technology plays such a prevalent role in our world and everyday life. With the continuous increase of technology in our lives, it make sense to have technology as a tool in the classroom. Yet, there are some schools that are delaying the integration of technology into the curriculum and even more schools that are not using the technology available to its full potential.
I became increasingly interested with impact that technology has within a classroom and how technology usage could be improved. During my sophomore year of college I began taking technology-related courses to better understand the role that technology plays within schools. I declared the Computer Educator Licensing program as my focus study through the Indiana University School of Education. I have found that through my course work over the last three years, my confidence in understanding of the role that technology should have in schools, and my ability to help a school or school district achieve that goal has hugely greatened. |
